A landfill in Chile generates 2MW/H thanks to our biogas cleaning

Our line of biogas treatment business continues growing in South America

28 Mar A landfill in Chile generates 2MW/H thanks to our biogas cleaning

Dim Water Solutions, a sister company of Dimasa Grupo, specializing in the treatment of wastewater and biogas, has supplied Finning, a company belonging to the powerful industrial group Caterpillar, a Biogas Cleaning unit. This is a process necessary to transform the biogas generated in a landfill into a biofuel suitable for combustion engines, which allows to take advantage of energy resources and to maintain the care for the environment.

This type of solutions has become in recent years one of the specialties of the Dimasa Grupo, highlighting its prestigious work in the Wastewater Treatment Plant of Atotonilco in Mexico, the largest in the world in its category. In this installation Dimasa Grupo played a fundamental role, being one of its major suppliers. And thanks in part to its contribution to biogas cleanup, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) awarded the 360° Infrastructure Award in recognition of the comprehensive implementation of a sustainability strategy.

In addition, this work is in addition to others already made in Chile, where Dimasa Grupo has its own commercial delegation. Thus, a biogas burning and analysis plant located in the Union for the KDM company was designed and manufactured. Our works in this South American country do not go unnoticed for the big corporations of the energy sector and of waste treatment.

This technological solution for Finning stands out by coming fully integrated in a 40-foot container, which allows it to be easily transportable by shipping. One of its characteristics is that, to increase safety, the electrical control part and the treatment equipment are separated. The biogas cleaning unit has been fully tested at the company’s facilities in Vacarisses, and guarantees a treatment capacity of 1,000 Nm³/h, which will generate 2 MW/h of electrical power.

This container has been installed in the landfill of Lepanto, very close to the capital Santiago de Chile, and with the start-up by Dim Water Solutions, company that always offers an integral service of sale and after sale, the Biogas cleaning is already in operation and at full capacity.
