14 Jul Dimasa Grupo participates in the SMART GREEN GAS Project
During the project Smart Green Gas, Dimasa Grupo will investigate the improvement in the production of biogas from sludge of sewage treatment plants
The study aims to increase the biogas yield and improve quality.
It is expected to get a higher proportion of biogas with methane and minor impurities. This leap in quality is achieved by incorporating a bioelectrochemical system within anaerobic digester. In addition, new technologies for cleaning impurities (H2S and siloxanes) in biogas will be studied.
Dimasa Grupo will develop the new system at laboratory scale and, within two years, is intended to validate the system on a pilot scale.
The SMART Green Gas project is led by Aqualia by a consortium of companies formed by Gas Natural Fenosa, EDP, Biogas Fuel Cell, Diagnostiqa, Dimasa Grupo and Ecobiogas. The initiative has a budget of more than eight million euros and the financing of CDTI 100 Programme and supported by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund).
The biomethane obtained, of high quality, can be injected into the natural gas grid or used as automotive fuel.
The objective of this project is to obtain high-quality biomethane from urban and agro-industrial waste.
The project, which runs until September 2018, studying the purification of biogas obtained from waste treatment plant and conversion into biomethane high quality, with 95% concentration, to be injected into the gas grid or used as automotive fuel.
To achieve this goal, SMART Green Gas develops maximum efficiency systems for the production of biogas as well as new treatment processes, refining and production of biomethane. In addition, they work on procedures for the control and biomethane intelligent and specialized distribution.
